The town of Plum Lake has no zoning restrictions beyond what the county imposes. The only construction type permits issued by the town clerk are a driveway permit and a fire number permit. All other permits are issued through Vilas County Zoning.

As of the 2020 Census, our town population was 555. That number swells in the summer to many thousands. The town encompasses about 100 square miles.
While they may appear as separate towns for post office purposes, Sayner and Star Lake are both part of the town of Plum Lake.
